New Faculty Development Program (NFD)
The Delaware Technical Community College New Faculty Development Program (NFD) is designed to assist all newly-hired full-time instructors and academic counselors to build a strong foundation for quality instruction and advisement.  NFD engages faculty in focused programs, courses, and conversations about designing and delivering instructional experiences that contribute to student engagement, achievement, and success.
 
The goal of this program is to help these individuals to:
  • Strengthen his/her ability to make significant contributions within the College community
  • Increase student success, engagement, performance, and satisfaction
  • Better understand the mission, goals and objectives of the institution
New Faculty Defined
Instructors and academic counselors who are newly hired, permanent, and full-time are required to complete the New Faculty Development Program.  Exceptions may be given by the Dean of Instruction based on previous experience and/or education.  Newly hired, temporary, full-time instructors and academic counselors are invited, but not required to complete NFD.
 
Length of Program
The Delaware Technical Community College New Faculty Development Program (NFDP) is a two-year program.  Unless otherwise agreed upon by their Dean of Instruction, all newly hired full-time faculty members are required to complete this program prior to the end of their second year of employment.

  • It is the responsibility of the new instructor to register for, participate in, and successfully complete each component of this program.
  • Unless otherwise agreed upon by their Dean of Instruction, all newly hired full-time faculty members are required to complete this program prior to the end of their second year of employment.
