Using D2L's Accessibility Checker
Many of us are diving into the HTML editor to personalize our Instructor Information pages and adding graphics to our Announcements. Just a reminder to run the Accessibility Checker before you finalize your work! The Accessibility Checker is easy to use and something to run on any page where the Editor has been utilized.
Why is this important?
The Accessibility Checker ensures your content conforms to WCAG and Section 508 accessibility standards. Want to learn more about accessibility standards and how to provide access to all students? CCIT has also created a Digital Accessibility Reference Guide for you to use. Consider taking our micro-credential course (MCC) on Digital Accessibility!
How do I access the Accessibility Checker in the editor?
- In the HTML editor, locate the Accessibility Check icon (shown below).
- As the checker is running, any compliance issues will alert you to Ignore or Repair.
Full details can be found through the BrightSpace Community on the D2L Accessibility Checker on HTML-authored content.
Important D2L Updates to Quizzes
Updates to the Quiz Tool have been implemented in D2L and these might affect how your Quizzes operate for students. These updates might have changed the way your current quizzes function.
This video explains the changes.
