Flippity LogoHave you heard of Flippity?!?! It is a great free tool to add different types of engagement activities to your course. Easily create and embed Flash Cards, Jeopardy Games, Word Clouds, and more using one of their 28 templates. Did you know the leaderboard on the TEaCH Champions site is a Flippity interactive?!?!? Flippity makes it so easy to get started. Each interactive has its own link to a demo page, so you can see it in action, and then instructions for how to create your own. Faculty that have been using Flippity have shared how easy they are to setup and students find them not only fun but beneficial too! 

D2L Updates

Ed Puzzle Integration

You can now link to Edpuzzle directly in D2L! You can do this in two ways.

  1. You can add an Edpuzzle video directly in your content by clicking the “Existing activities” button and selecting “Edpuzzle.”

  2. Alternatively, you can add it to the Instructions area of an assignment by clicking the Insert Quicklink icon at the top of the Instructions area and choosing “Edpuzzle from the Third-Party Section.

When adding an Edpuzzle, you will need to log in to your Edpuzzle account and create a class for the assignment to be linked to by following the directions that pop up.

Edpuzzle can also link student’s scores directly to your D2L gradebook. If you want to learn more, please visit the integration page:

Virtual Reality in Education

Or maybe you attended the PD Day Presentation on Virtual Reality in Education and now you want to try it out to see what all the buzz is about?!?! CCIT is hosting VR events on each campus on Fridays during the months of November and December from 11:00AM – 1:00PM. Use the VR Sign Up Genius  to register for a time slot to try it out or just stop by to watch.

Fridays at 9 am: Jason and Carrie are on the case! Join us this fall as we create components for a Virtual Escape Room during each Coffee Talk. We’ll build the pieces that can be used alone and then combine them at the end of the semester to create one cohesive escape room.
